Cat TieTransfers High Lateral Loads

The CAT Tie is a heavy-duty system and the V-Tie wire provides a constant connection of the veneer wall to the structural backing without any risk of veneer disengagement. This connector transfers high lateral loads through the V-Tie and AB-Clip application. It allows for greater push-through and pullout capacity in wall assemblies.

The AB Clip may be welded or mechanically fastened directly on to the structural backing. Additionally, the Backer Plate distributes any concentrations of load over a large area, reducing the risk of damage to wood surfaces or structural backings.

It must be noted that CAT Ties transfer lateral loads, but they are not designed to resist movement vertically, and this may pose challenges in some assemblies. For products that better resist movement, shear and load in cavity walls, view our ShearConnector suite of products.

V-Ties are available in a wide variety of standard lengths to accommodate various thicknesses of masonry veneer and cavity wall spaces.

Additionally, in assemblies with sheathing or other secondary component connecting to the structural backing, consider the PAC-TIE.
