The Slotted Block Tie (Type II) system consists of a double-Slotted Block Plate, when compared to the Slotted Block Tie (Type I), which uses a single slot rather than two shorter slots, the Slotted Block Tie (Type II) offers greater vertical adjustability, reduced displacement, and higher strength.
It must be noted that our Slotted Block Ties transfer lateral load, but they are not designed to resist movement vertically, and this can reduce the effectiveness of the entire wall assembly to function in a combined manner. The double-slotted plate is mortared directly into a head joint in the structural backing. This creates a stable integration and it reduces any play, deflection or connector deterioration.
The two slots in the tie each allows up to 1 inch of vertical play, and this ensures vertical flexibility regardless of where the Plate was fastened to the masonry backing.
V-Ties are available in a wide variety of standard lengths to accommodate various thicknesses of masonry veneer and cavity wall spaces.

Our Insulation Support (optional) is inserted over the end of the plate and is pressed against the V-Ties, enabling it to affix any insulation safely in place.
